Arcadia Public Record

The Codex

What is known, what is reported, and what the city has been told about the corporations, technologies, and forces shaping Arcadia. Some of this is true.

Corporate Files

Corporations

Chronos Corporation

MEGACORPORATION

The dominant infrastructure and biotech megacorporation of Arcadia. Chronos built the city's surveillance network, operates its drone fleets, and funds the sciences that shape Arcadian life. Their reach extends from the towers of New Arcadia to the checkpoint corridors of the outer ring. Corporate screens across the city carry their messaging about innovation, safety, and the future. Whether the future they are building belongs to all of Arcadia is a question the city is beginning to ask out loud.

DOMINANT POWER

Flora Industries

BIOTECH SUBSIDIARY

Chronos's biotech subsidiary and Arcadia's most visible corporate presence. Flora Industries produces the chlorine filtration canisters sold in every market, employs hundreds of scientists across its Bio-Engineering Wing, and publicly funds atmospheric restoration research. Its towers are in Highscale. Its products are in Old Arcadia. The distance between those two facts is one the city is starting to measure.

AIHR Suit

CORPORATE ASSET

Adaptive Intelligent Human Response suit. Standard personal air filtration equipment for Arcadia's industrial workers and atmospheric zones. Flora Industries positions the AIHR suit as the city's most advanced breathing solution, protecting citizens from chlorine contamination at a personal scale. Deployment is expanding. By Villanova's latest announcement, distribution will reach every sector within weeks.

ER Orb

ORIGIN UNKNOWN

A palm-sized object. Smooth surface, deep water color, lit from below. It pulses with faint light and emits a low resonant vibration through frequency and shifting patterns of blue, purple, and gold. It was found in a market stall in the lower ring. The vendor did not know what she was selling. The city has not officially documented its existence.

UNCLASSIFIED

Florabytes

RESEARCH PROTOTYPE

A classified research project developed inside Flora Industries' Bio-Engineering Wing. Described by its lead researcher as bio-digital hybrid organisms capable of actively cleaning the atmosphere itself. Unlike filtration suits, which protect individual wearers, Florabytes are designed to address contamination at city-wide scale. Flora's board has not approved the project for deployment. Funding is under review.

Consciousness Transference Module

CLASSIFIED

A classified research designation. Publicly, no corporation has confirmed this technology exists. The scientific question it addresses: whether a human consciousness can be separated from its biological body and transferred to a digital environment. It is the most ambitious and most contested frontier in Arcadian science. Those who have seen the machine describe cables and sensors spread from its frame like something pulled from deep water.

TDR Program

Tactical Digital Reconnaissance. A Chronos Corporation military AI development program. Officially, it does not exist. Their father told them it was something beyond what they told the public. He was not wrong.

Iteration 1

TDR-1

ABANDONED

The first iteration. A soldier's frame fused with industrial machinery. Half flesh, half exoskeleton. Its limbs moved in a way nothing biological was supposed to move. Whatever built it had prioritized function over control. The earliest work always looked like that. Left in a military compound in the Forbidden Zone when the program moved on. The compound was sealed. The unit was not deactivated.

Forbidden Zone compound, sealed sectorABANDONED — STILL ACTIVE
Iteration 2

TDR-2

DECOMMISSIONED

Movement stability improved. The bipedal frame was retained but the biological components were reduced. Faster. More predictable. Still too large for covert deployment in the lower corridors. Decommissioned after field trials. Records partially sealed.

Iteration 3

TDR-3

DECOMMISSIONED

First departure from humanoid form. The program concluded that the human silhouette was a liability in surveillance environments. Smaller, lower to the ground, faster through narrow corridors. The instinct-response architecture was promising. The loyalty architecture was not yet developed. Decommissioned.

Iteration 4

TDR-4

ACTIVE

The current iteration. Canine form. Bioluminescent lines run along the limbs and spine. The eyes are teal-cyan and track with something that reads as thought. Advanced mobility, threat-response processing, and intelligence-gathering capabilities that exceed disclosed specifications. The loyalty architecture exceeded design parameters. Deployment is expanding across Arcadia.

Old Arcadia

The People

The lower city. The Arcadia that predates the towers, the mag-lev trams, and the filtration economy. Air quality in its outer corridors runs above safe chlorine thresholds. Its residents have built food co-ops, filter canister collectives, and medical relays, because no corporate program built them first. Old Arcadia remembers things New Arcadia would rather it forgot.

Status: Unregistered

The Sentinel

Unknown

A security designation found in internal Chronos and Flora Industries network documentation. Described by those who have encountered it as an active, adaptive system rather than a passive monitor. It does not log threats. It responds to them. No public information has been released. Personnel who submitted formal inquiries have not received a response.

Status: Unconfirmed

The Ledger

Chronos Corporation

A Chronos central database cross-referencing citizen profiles with threat classifications. Running for at least seven years. Not designed to catch criminals. Designed to flag patterns, habits, associations, and tendencies that might become a problem someday. Most citizens do not know it exists. Most citizens are already in it.
