Act 1, Seeds of Transformation
What Happens
A tragic accident transforms Mod. He does not choose to become Phoenix, it happens to him. His body is transitioned into an AIHR form to save his life. He wakes up as Phoenix: different body, same grief, same mind, new capabilities he is still learning to understand.

- The accident: specific, visceral, something that couldn't be survived as a human
- The transformation sequence: disorienting, not triumphant, Mod wakes up not knowing if he's still himself
- Phoenix begins exploring his new capabilities with a mix of wonder and mourning for what he was
